In this zine, you will learn the basics of brewing with the AeroPress, a manual coffee maker invented by Alan Adler.
The AeroPress is the brewer of choice for many coffee lovers because it allows you to control every stage of the brew: It begins with the coffee steeping in hot water in the top chamber (like a French press). At the same time, some liquid starts flowing through the filter at the bottom (like a filter coffee maker). To conclude the steep, you press the plunger down to force the rest of the liquid through the filter and the coffee grounds (like a Moka pot or espresso machine).
The many brewing recipes (here we report only ten) allow you to control these stages and tune the taste of your
cup.

Procedure:
- Download the ZIP archive and extract the files.
- Print the photos (numbered JPG files) on 4×6″ photo paper.
Bonus: Sequence the photos as you like best! - Use the Lay-Flat Taped Photo Book method by Paul Treacy (instagram.com/treacyphoto) to create the body of the book.
- Print foreword.pdf on an A4. Then glue it to the front of the body with a thin line (about 5 mm) of glue close to the spine.
- Print cover.pdf on two separate adhesive papers. Stick the first page around the body + foreward making sure you cover it all (there will be some extra). Then, trim it to size.
- Finally, cut out the stickers and stick the title and the author’s name on the front cover and the description on the back cover.
Nächster Halt… Karlsplatz! is my ode to the Karlsplatz U-Bahn station. I worked near Karlsplatz for many years, so I had many opportunities to walk through this labyrinthine space.
This is a transit node for all sorts of people in Vienna, while for others it is a workplace. On the Staatsoper side of the station, you can often find musicians performing live (one more reason to pass through here).
I find it to be an excellent photography location. I love the interplay of natural and artificial light at the exits, the filtering effect created by the coloured glass, and the playful reflections in the mirrored corridors.
I am fascinated by the interior design of the station. The wall decorations, the lighting, the ceilings, and the exit signs have a vintage vibe, while the shops are a mix of old and new.

Knock knock… Rome

How to print and bind

A small collection of beautiful door knockers I found in Rome during a short trip around NYE 2026.
I was impressed by the sheer number of different designs I found in different neighbourhoods. After editing and printing the photos, I also realised the doors in the back participate in the impact—their distinct colours and states of use could tell a story by themselves. I think these small details really make the character of a city.
This 6-page zine plus front and back cover is made with the most popular zine design. It is a wonderful introduction to the art and practice of making zines. I challenge you to make such a zine on your preferred topic and share it! I’m happy anytime I can see a new one.
PS This small format also happily lends itself to being sent by mail!
